OBITUARY:" RUTH O SCHANTZ, NEW KENSINGTON
Ruth O Imm Schantz, 81, of Main Street, New Kensington, died Monday (Feb 16,1998) in Citizens General Hospital, New Kensington.Born June 2, 1916, in Logans Ferry,Plum, she lived in New Kensington most of her life.She was a 1934 graduate of the former New Kensington High School.Mrs Schantz was a member of Logans Ferry Presbyterian Church, New Kensington, and formerly active in the Parent Teacher Association.She enjoyed crafts of all kinds, sewing, crocheting, and needlework.Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Wilbert T Schantz; three sons:Thomas Schantz of Pleasant Hills, Charles Schantz of Lower Burrell, and Kevin Schantz of Holland, PA; five daughters: Mrs Jay (Doris)Coudriet of Tarentum,L Elaine Schantz of New Kensington, Mrs Frank (Lois) Bakewell of Washington Twp, Mrs Robert (Janet) Hrivnak of Lower Burrell, and Mrs John (Linda) Brem of Allegheny Twp. 17 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Calvin and Robert Imm of New Kensington; and 2 sisters: Dorothy Stocker of Chicago, and Mary Jane Yockman of New Kensington.She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin Osman and Aida Viola Davis Imm; 4 brothers: Edwin O, Harry, George, and Fred Imm; 2 sisters: Viola Shank and Elizabeth Malone Landis.**********Friends may call from 7-9 tonite and from 2-4 and 7-9pm Wednesday in the Ross G. Walker Funeral Home, 217 Freeport Rd, New Kensington, where a service will be at 10am Thursday. Her pastor the Rev Reid Stewart, interim pastor of Logans Ferry Presbyterian Church will Officiate.Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell."
