Calvin K. ImmLogans Ferry
Calvin K. "Babe" Imm, 85, of Logans Ferry, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, in UPMC St. Margaret, Pittsburgh. He was born May 22, 1924, in New Kensington, a son of the late Edwin Osman and Aida Viola Davis Imm. He was born and raised in Logans Ferry and lived there all of his life. He worked for PPG in Springdale as a batch cooker and researcher. He also had a unique talent for being known as the best hardwood floor finisher in the area. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington, Plum Senior Citizen Center, Plum Borough and was a former member of the Moose, New Kensington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Marie Klems Imm, who died in September 2002; four brothers, Edwin, Harry, George and Fred "Ted" Imm; and four sisters, Aida "Toots" Shank, Elizabeth Landis, Ruth Schantz and Mary Jane Yockman. He is survived by his five children, Kenneth (Ginnie) Dyer Imm, of New Kensington, Barbara (David) Grabowski, of New Kensington, Joseph W. (Rosann A.) Janicki Imm, of Natrona, James (Betty Ann) Pezzana Imm, of Lower Burrell, and Maureen (Paul) Wheeler, of Plum Borough; 18 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Mary Ann) Imm, of New Kensington; sister, Dorothy Stocker, of Chicago, Ill; and also survived by numerous close friends from the Plum Senior Citizen Center.
Friends and family will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday only and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the JOSEPH J. CARDARO FUNERAL HOME, a service oriented funeral home, 1125 Kenneth Ave., New Kensington, PA 15068, 724-337-3325. Prayers of transfer will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home followed by Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington, with Father Alan Grote as celebrant.
